Activities in Bhutan. Nature. Climate and vegetation of the country vary according to the height of mountains slopes. Waterlogged jungle differs by diversity of flora and fauna. There are evergreen thickets of bamboo and vines, palm trees, mimosa, and bananas. Elephants, tigers, monkeys, snakes are found here; huge number of blood-sucking insects. At an altitude of 1200-2400 meters, subtropical evergreen and deciduous trees - magnolias, oaks, maples, chestnuts appear along with tropical species occur in subtropical evergreen and deciduous trees - magnolias, oaks, maples, chestnuts. Sown areas are concentrated here. At an altitude of 2500-4450 meters coniferous forests (pine, spruce, cedar) appear, and then, alpine meadows come. Black Himalayan bears, wild yaks, goats, sheep, snow leopards, vultures are found here. 72% of the country’s territory is covered with rich forests, about 5500 varieties of plants grow here, among them 300 – are drug plants; 165 species of large mammals and some 770 species of birds are found here.
