Koh Chang is the second largest island of Thailand, located 310 km away from Bangkok in the Gulf of Thailand. It’s a tropical marine national park. The most popular season for traveling is from November to March. Koh Chang has been heavily developed since 2002. The island now receives 655,000 visitors annually.
The interior of the island is mountainous, covered by virgin forest. There are plenty of sandy beaches dotted with hotels and resorts. The west coast settlements of Hat Sai Khao, Hat Kai Mook and Hat Ta Nam attract most of the tourists. The village of Laem Bang Bao on the south coast is also a favored destination.
Accommodation on the island ranges from simple beach bungalows to luxury villas and apartments. Plenty of recreations are waiting for you: diving, elephant trekking, hiking, spa, bird watching, kayaking, sailing, parasailing, fishing, squid fishing, overnight deep sea fishing. If you drive, you can hire motorbikes, jeeps and cars to take you to any of the beaches along the coastal roads and to find variety of restaurants, live music bars and nightclubs.
