Venezuela is located on the Caribbean coast of South America. It has borders with Guyana, Brazil, and Colombia. Venezuela is one of the most colorful countries in South America.Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, is situated at an altitude of 900 meters in a picturesque valley. The city was founded by Spanish conqueror Diego de Lozada in 1567. Most of cultural and architectural attractions in Caracas are concentrated in the old part of the city. There are also a lot of interesting places around Caracas. First, is the famous National Park Avila. Not far from it a luxurious Caribbean coast with beaches and resort areas extends.The Andes Mountain Range crosses the entire western part of Venezuela from Colombian border to a coast of the Caribbean Sea. A picturesque city of Merida, is located in the mountains just 12 kilometers away from the country's highest peak - Pico Bolivar. The longest and most high-altitude cableway in the world is a visiting-card of Merida. It stretches from the city center to the top of the second highest peak of Venezuela - Espejo and has a length of 12,6 km. Sea resort of Margarita island attracts people looking for a place to relax and sunbathe. Over one hundred of luxury hotels were built there, and long beaches are considered to be among the best in the country. Angel Falls is one of the most spectacular wonders in the world. This is the world's highest waterfall, located in one of the branches of the Curran river, in the heart of Canaima National Park. The highest point of free water fall is 807 m, which is 20 times higher than Niagara and 15 times higher than Iguazu.
