Puerto Madryn, located to the north-eastern of Chubut province (Patagonia), the coast of the New Gulf is the National Diving Center. Such types of active recreation as sport fishing, water skiing, sailing and windsurfing are very popular here. Tourists from all over the world come here to visit the Valdes Peninsula, located 100 km away from the city, and make a boat trip in a few meters from unique southern whales, numerous dolphins, sea lions and killer whales. Every year flocks of southern whales and dolphins swim up here for traditional marriage rituals. First specimens appear in May and remain in the Gulf until the end of January. Southern whales differs from their counterparts by a special form of a head and lack of dorsal fin. They produce V-shaped stream of water, visible for several miles. Whales give birth to offspring every three years. Pregnancy lasts for 12 months, and baby\'s milk feeding - for two years. A newborn little whale is \"small\"- from 4,6 to 5,5 meters in length. Dolphins are also unusual here. They are black and white: head, tail and dorsal fin are black, and the rest of the body is white. Dolphins are of modest dimensions ¬ body length of 1.5 meters, weigh only about 50 kg. They swim near a shore. Some of them like to chase small boat.
Puerto Madryn is a young Tourist Center with modern hotels, discos and restaurants with a wide range of seafood. During a holiday in this lovely town everyone should taste dishes of Argentine cuisine. Very attractive is parrilla - a mixture of steak, sausages and meat giblets, prepared on a grill
