UK Attractions. Napoleon’s House of in Longwood was his residence during the exile to St. Helena from December 1815 until his death on the 5 th of May 1821. The house and grounds are located at 6 km away from Jamestown. After the death of Napoleon, this house was used for agricultural purposes. And in 1858 it was transferred to the French government and has since been under the control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France.
