ITB Berlin Convention: Azerbaijan co-hosts the tourism industry’s leading think tank
Azerbaijan represented at ITB Berlin with three stands – ITB Destination Days: discussion with celebrity panel guests, including national football team manager Berti Vogts
Berlin, 7 February 2013 – Azerbaijan will be featuring prominently at the ITB Berlin. As the Convention & Culture Partner of ITB Berlin 2013 the country situated on the Caspian Sea will be showcasing its diversity at the show. As part of the ITB Berlin Convention a discussion round featuring leading panel guests will be talking about Azerbaijan’s rich cultural treasures and the country’s prospects for tourism. Azerbaijan’s main stand is located in Hall 3.2, where 15 co-exhibitors will be providing visitors with information on their respective products and regions. Azerbaijan will also be featured in Hall 4.1 as well as in Hall 7.2, in the pavilion devoted to the countries and regions along the famous Silk Road. On the weekend of 9 and 10 March visitors can look forward to a number of cultural events such as displays of traditional dancing on Azerbaijan’s main stand. There will also be regional culinary specialties on offer as well as wine tasting events.

At the ITB Berlin Convention, the travel industry’s leading think tank, Azerbaijan will be co-hosting the event. On 6 March 2013, at 11.20 a.m. in the London Room in Hall 7.1b, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, the Hon. Abulfas Garayev, will be holding the opening address and talking about the many positive aspects of his country. At the ITB Destination Day, the members of the panel discussion at the Azerbaijan Partner Forum will be talking about the country’s diversity, its cultural heritage and the prospects for tourism. Among those taking part are the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Anja Habersetzer, Area Manager for Azerbaijan, Studiosus, and Gila Altmann, former Parliamentary Under-Secretary of the Federal Republic of Germany and government advisor to Azerbaijan. Celebrity guests will include ex-Germany manager Berti Vogts, who currently manages the national football team of Azerbaijan. The discussion round will take place on 7 March at 1.45 p.m. in Room New York 1, Hall 7.1a.
For trade visitors at ITB Berlin admission to the ITB Berlin Convention is free of charge.
