The Finnish Design, Back to the Future

What are the different roles for the designer, their responsibilities and dreams in 2012? The answers to these questions will be sought and provided by the 100-year celebratory exhibition of the Finnish Association of Designers Ornamo’s Hands That Draw the Future at Helsinki Taidehalli (16.6.-5.8.). The main summer exhibition in the Design Museum this year is the Builders of the Future - Finnish Design 1945-1967 (1.6.-23.9) telling an interesting story how post war Finland became an internationally acclaimed design country. Helsinki City Museum’s Made in Helsinki 1700-2012 exhibition in Villa Hakasalmi (12.6.-1.9.) provides a unique view into the design in Helsinki over the last 300 years.
