WDC Helsinki Open Doors Weekend

The open doors design carnival is upon us!

Some 180 different events have been planned to delight the residents of Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo, Kauniainen and Lahti: these will be touching and fun meetings involving design.

In addition to design, sometimes in very surprising forms and places, the events also promise to offer bread and circus games, performances, clubs, guidance for visitors, lectures, workshops and ideation projects.

Take a look behind the scenes in museums, workrooms, company headquarters.

Sit down with the designer at a pie bar or tea party, participate in the design processes intended for the general public.

Enjoy the sauna, dance, wonder, listen: WDC Helsinki 2012 has started and will open its doors to events, works and inventions. Get a bucket of water, freeze and carve your own Ice lantern for the Frozen Lights event at the Senate Square on Saturday.
