DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki Celebrates Completion of
$16 Million Hotelwide Transformation
Special Hilton HHonors Bonus Points Promotion for Qualifying Stays Through July 26
The DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki, located in one of Hawaii’s most sought-after destinations, is placing the finishing touches on a $16 million hotel transformation project, which includes comprehensive upgrades throughout the hotel’s guest rooms, public areas, function space and dining outlets. Situated at the entrance to Waikiki, this 317-room, full-service hotel is within close proximity of the Hawaii Convention Center and all of the renowned beach, dining, shopping and entertainment options that Waikiki has to offer.
“The comprehensive makeover of the DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki refreshes our hotel with a cool, contemporary and inviting look and feel for our guests,” said Tom Herman, hotel general manager. “Our team members are more excited than ever before to share our transformation, coupled with our longstanding tradition of warm, Hawaiian hospitality and spirit of o’hana, to create a memorable hotel experience for both visitors and residents alike.”
Tracey Simpson, IIDA, and principal of Idea Innovative Designed Environments Associates (IDEA), Inc. was the designer contracted for the project. She has more than 20 years of award-winning interior design and project management experience, including commercial, residential and hospitality projects.
The new design of the guest rooms focuses on relaxation, sophistication and functionality. With a fresh and modern look, the clean lines and soft curves emulate the surrounding landscape. The tranquil settings are accented with rich colors, bold patterns and tactile textures. A sleek work station with internet access and comfortable seating will provide a business-friendly environment. Multiple outlets for electronic devices and a multi-media console will connect laptop computers directly to the television for added convenience. New 37-inch flat panel plasma televisions will allow access to the hotel movie catalog and cable network. All of the hotel’s suites, including those on the 19th floor that open to a roof-top patio, will be furnished with 42-inch flat panel plasma televisions.
The guest room bathrooms have a sleek and stylish look using light stone material and bold accent colors. Walk-in showers with adjustable oversized “rain” shower heads will provide a welcome retreat for tired guests. In addition to showers, each of the hotel’s 43 suites will feature soaking tubs, with whirlpool spas in the 19th floor suites.
The guest room upgrades follow the completion last year of DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki’s lobby and public areas. New lobby furnishings, carpeting, wall covering and window treatments create a relaxing and inviting setting for reading, working on a laptop or meeting with colleagues. Soothing hues of blues cascade on the window sheers that allow natural lighting to brighten up the area. The ocean theme is reflected on the area rugs with their wave and sea patterns. Incredibly simple, but surprisingly sophisticated, the redesigned lobby is a refreshing oasis for guests and visitors.
The hotel’s meeting and banquet rooms, along with its restaurant, will be the final phase of the refurbishment. The redesigned function space will be expanded to 9,200 square feet and outfitted with cutting edge technology. The Bistro is being redesigned to offer superior breakfast, lunch and dinner service in a casual, yet sophisticated setting.
To commemorate the newly redesigned DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki, Hilton HHonors members who book and complete a qualifying stay with a minimum of 3 nights now through July 26, 2011 will receive 5000 Hilton HHonors Bonus Points. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotional offer, award or meeting/group stay. Subject to availability.
